Repurpose + Reuse
If you have used candles before, you know that the jars can be repurposed instead of thrown away. Below are some ways to prepare and reuse your candle containers.
CLEANING YOUR CANDLE CONTAINERS:
Remove the Label
Use an orange stick to lift a corner of the label gently. Peel off the label slowly to remove it in one piece. If any adhesive or label remnants remain, use olive oil or alcohol on a paper towel to gently rub it off.
Remove the Wax
Here are two methods to remove the wax: freezer or heat gun/blow dryer.
Freezer Method: Put your container in the freezer overnight. Remove the container and use a spoon or butter knife to remove the wax and the wick holder. Use a cloth to clean the inside, hand wash, rinse, and dry.
Heat Gun/Blow Dryer Method: Use a heat gun or blow dryer to melt the remaining wax carefully. Pour the melted wax into the trash, remove the wick holder with a spoon, and clean the inside of the container with a cloth. Hand wash, rinse, and dry.
Note: Do not pour any water with wax down the drain as it could affect the plumbing.
